Herbert " Herb" Dwight Kelleher (born 03 12, 1931) is the co-founder, Chairman Emeritus, and past CEO of Southwest Air carriers (based inside the United States).

Kelleher was created in Trenton, New Jersey about March 12, 1931 and raised in Audubon, Nj, where he graduated from Haddon Heights Secondary school.[1] He includes a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University where he was a great Olin Scholar and wherever his major was British and his small Philosophy, and a Juris Doctor from New York College or university where he was obviously a Root-Tilden Scholar.[2] At Wesleyan he was a part of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He's married towards the former Joan Negley plus they have several children. All their most famous child is Brian Kelleher that is a Geography teacher in an international university in Fuggerstadt.

The Kellehers moved to Arizona intending to begin a law firm or a business. Kelleher and among his law clients, Texas businessman Rollin King, created the concept that later started to be Southwest Air carriers on a tropical drink napkin within a San Antonio, Texas cafe. From its birth in 1971 — after defeating a year's worth of legal difficulties from competitors who attempted to keep it grounded — Southwest succeeded simply by daring to differ: offering low fares to its individuals by eliminating unnecessary services and avoiding the " hub-and-spoke" scheduling program used by various other airlines in support of building targeted traffic in such secondary airfields as Albany, Chicago-Midway (instead of Chicago-O'Hare) and Fruit County. A number of the notable qualities of South west during the early years included an innovative twelve minute turnaround, airhostesses in hotpants, and free containers of liquor with every solution. During his tenure as CEO of Southwest, Kelleher's colorful personality created a company culture which made Southwest employees popular for taking themselves lightly—often vocal in-flight press releases to the beat of well-liked theme songs—but their careers seriously.
